Family Fun Fair!

If you weren’t at GUMC today you missed a fun event!!  After a fried chicken lunch young and old played together to kick off the new school year.  The moon bounce was popular, as well as water balloons, where alot of adults got wet and saw some action too!  Croquet and corn hole kept some busy while a few enjoyed building a tower with blocks, challenging their balancing engineering.   There was also a scavenger hunt where some people learned alot of our church history while searching for the clues.

Don’t forget to take time to stop and put your prayers for the school year on our PRAYER BOARD in the front yard of the church.  We are hoping folks from the neighborhood will join in to know their heart felt wishes are ours in keeping kids safe, and helping their teachers to feel like they have made a difference in the life of all children.

Lots of new backpacks were blessed today, along with those of children present who brought their own.   Blessings abound!  I think all our kids know they are loved and want them to have a successful school year!

Quilting with Love

This quilt, proudly held today at worship by Jo Humber and Teresa Jett, was made the “Stitchers” group, held every Monday afternoon at the church.  The beautiful patriotic quilt was to be donated to a South County soldier.  Beautiful job girls!

Lilly Jo Serht was baptised June 16 – welcome to the fellowship of God through the church, Lilly Jo!
